MFI was founded in 1983 by a group of community members looking to bring the community together and celebrate Madison’s vibrant culture. Since then, the organization has grown and evolved, but its mission has remained the same: to create events that celebrate the diverse community of Madison and promote local businesses and organizations.

Aside from the marathon, one of the most popular events that Madison Festivals, Inc. organizes is the Taste of Madison. This event takes place every Labor Day weekend and brings together over 70 local restaurants and vendors to showcase their food and drink offerings.
